Liquid Glucose 80% BP
Liquid Glucose 80% BP is a purified, concentrated aqueous solution of glucose
(dextrose), typically containing 80% w/w of glucose and other related
saccharides. It is a clear, colorless to pale yellow, viscous liquid with a
sweet taste. Derived primarily from starch hydrolysis (usually corn or rice),
it is widely used in pharmaceutical formulations as a sweetener, humectant, and
stabilizing agent. Liquid glucose enhances the viscosity and mouthfeel of
syrups, acts as a base for tonics and elixirs, and provides a source of energy
in nutritional supplements. The British Pharmacopoeia (BP) standards ensure its
purity and safety for pharmaceutical and food use.
