Sorbitol Solution 70% BP
Sorbitol Solution 70% BP is a clear, colorless to slightly yellowish, viscous aqueous solution containing 70% w/w of D-sorbitol, a sugar alcohol derived from glucose. It is widely used in pharmaceutical formulations as a sweetener, humectant, and stabilizer. In oral liquids, it serves as a non-cariogenic sweetening agent and improves the palatability of syrups and suspensions. Additionally, sorbitol acts as a laxative at higher concentrations due to its osmotic properties. The British Pharmacopoeia (BP) standard ensures that the solution is safe, consistent in quality, and suitable for pharmaceutical use.Specification for Sorbitol Solution 70%
