Hydrophobic (Cuff) Nonwoven:
Hydrophobic cuff nonwoven is a specially treated nonwoven
fabric used in baby diapers to form the leg cuffs or barrier cuffs,
which prevent side leakage. Made typically from polypropylene (PP) spunbonded
or SMS (Spunbond-Meltblown-Spunbond) nonwoven, the material is treated to be hydrophobic,
meaning it repels liquids. This property ensures that urine or feces is
directed toward the absorbent core and not allowed to escape through the sides.
Its softness, flexibility, and skin-friendliness make it ideal for prolonged
contact with delicate baby skin. It plays a vital role in enhancing leakage
protection, fit, and comfort.
